Lucille Ball
Lucille Ball, best known as the lovable Lucy Ricardo, was born on August 6, 1911, in Jamestown, New York. After her father's early death, she was raised by her grandparents while her mother worked. A restless teenager, she pursued acting in New York City but was deemed "too shy." She later found success as a model and, in 1933, became a "Goldwyn Girl," appearing in Roman Scandals (1933).
